Control
At what point do you know you've lost control of a class, and what do you do? This came up in my 400 lvl class last night where a situation, though funny, led to the teacher giving up and letting the class go. Though it was great to have left early, as a student who wants to teach I almost wanted to go up and talk to the Professor and tell him that he needed to gain control back of the classroom and continue. In truth we were all seniors, meaning at least the age of 20, the professor could have put his foot down and continued. What do you do when you've lost control in the classroom.

I also had a prof this semester who walked out of class. Half the class did not do the assignment so instead of continueing with class he walked out and was pissed off. I was mad because it was a Friday it was my only class and I drive over a 1/2 hour to get there and sit in traffic for over an hour to get home. I felt the same way b/c I am also becoming a teacher and honestly I know you have bad days but to cancel class like that I think its ridiculous!!
That's a good question, What should the professor do when he/she loses control of the class? It's a tough situation. What I'm wondering is what happened in the class ? Things like this probably happen often, and each teacher responds differently. So who knows what the right thing to do is.
